I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I later received a Masters of Arts degree from SEMO, also in Elementary Education.
This is my 33rd year teaching in the Leopold R-III School District. I taught fourth grade for five years, and have been teaching sixth grade for the remainder of the time. I also serve as the coach for the Scholar Bowl team and co-sponsor for the Leopold Beta Club. This is my 26th year to have the privilege of working with the Beta Club.
I do not assign homework for homework's sake. Students are given class time to complete assignments, but will need to check their math assignment each night. They will also need to study their notes a little each night. However, if they use class time wisely, the amount of homework should be minimal. Also, before every test, students will have some type of study materials to use to prepare for tests. These study materials may be notes, reviews, study guides, or textbook sections.
I have been married for 35 years and have 4 children.
sports! Baseball, softball, volleyball, and basketball are my
favorites. I love to watch the Cardinals play. I also enjoy
watching my children on their respective teams.
If any free time can be found, I enjoy oil painting, crafts, scrap booking, and other projects.
My wedding, birth of my children, accomplishments of my children, and special "teaching" memories, which always include special students, rate as memorable events for me.
