Mary Rowe
Librarian
Educational Background
I
graduated from Doniphan High School. Then I attended Southeast Missouri
State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech
Communication and a minor in Library Science. I received my Master's
Degree in Remedial Reading and a Specialist Degree in Community College
Teaching from Arkansas State University.
Teaching Experience
My teaching
experience has been varied. First, I taught Speech Communication,
Psychology, and Sociology in Couch, Missouri. Then, I taught fourth grade
in Poplar Bluff. When we moved to Arkansas I taught college level Speech
Communication Classes and Developmental Reading at Arkansas State
University. Next, we moved back to Missouri and I taught Developmental
Reading at Central Missouri State University. Later, we moved to Illinois
and I was a Counselor for the TRIO program at Illinois Central State and
Heartland Community College. Along the way I also wrote teachers manuals
for Reading Text Books, conducted workshops for teachers preparing to take the
State Teacher's Exam in Arkansas, taught Driver's Improvement Classes in
Illinois, and was a Counselor for Air Force Students at Whiteman Air Force
Base.
Class Schedule for 2021-2022
I work on Tuesday,
and Thursday. The Library is open everyday but the aid
may be busy helping other teachers. If you need to use the library
and the aid is gone, check in the secretary's office in the middle school
building. She will be happy to return to the library and help you.
My best advice for students:
READ! READ! READ! AND
READ SOME MORE!
Family
I am
married to Jackie Rowe and we have two wonderful children. I am the proud
Nana of the most beautiful grandchildren in the whole world and I have
pictures to prove it!
