Gretchen Probst

 K-12 Music

Educational Background:

I went to several elementary schools throughout Utah and Texas and landed in Madison County Missouri for junior high and high school, so I am not a stranger to small-town Missouri.  I got my Bachelors of Music Education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003.

Teaching Experience:

I taught for 4 years and then took time off to be a stay-at-home mom.  While “not working” I taught part-time at a private school and have volunteered teaching Toddler Tunes at Discovery Playhouse in Cape Girardeau.  This year will be my first “real job” while being a mom.

Plans for this year:

The plan for this year overall is to encourage a love for music, a passion for teamwork and knowledge and skills to perform.  Students will have performances for Christmas and in the spring.

Family

I’ve been married for 15 years to a great guy and we have 3 beautiful daughters; Cadence “Cady” is 6, Heidi is 3, and Alexandra “Lexi” is 1.  We need to get a male dog.

Other Interests/Hobbies

I like to sew and cook, I sound like Donna Reed – I also like to do adventurous things like rock climbing indoors and snowboarding and skiing with my sister who lives in Utah.  I have also gone zip lining and surfing on vacation.
