The First School
The "little" school, before
the building of the present elementary school. For many years the basement
section of the old hall
served as the school.
The First High School Class
In the Fall of 1949, the first class of high school students was enrolled.
Twenty-one ninth-grade students, with Mr. Richard Elfrink as their teacher,
attended classes in one room of the parish rectory while the interior of
the new school building was being completed. Later in the year classes
were held in the new building.
The First Graduates
Students who had entered the Leopold High School as freshmen through 1949-1951
school years later graduated from other high schools. Eight members
of the 1951-1952 freshmen class became the first graduates of Leopold High
School on April 28, 1955.
