About us

The Leopold Gearheads are an FTC team that was founded in 2009 and competes in many competitions each year. The Gearheads consist of 23 members and 3 mentors. Within the 23 members there is a design team, build team, technology team and motivate team. They use engineering and technology skills to build, program, and operate a robot that does many different tasks to compete against other teams all across the nation each year. We strive to perform gracious professionalism and good sportsmanship on and off the field.

Velocity Vortex

Every year FTC gives us a certain game that we have to play. We must build a robot fit for the game to score as many points as possible. This year our robot (sparky) must pick up balls, score them into baskets, touch color sensors, and even pick up a yoga ball. Take a look at how the game is played below.
